The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi has set a new benchmark with its Final Placement Report for the academic year 2024-25. The institute announced that the highest domestic cost-to-company (CTC) package for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) student soared to Rs. 50.39 lakh annually. This represents a significant 33 percent increase from the previous year, underscoring the institute’s growing reputation and the effectiveness of its placement strategies.
The placement drive was conducted under the guidance of Director Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, along with Dean (Academics) Prof. Tanushree Dutta, Chairperson (Corporate Relations) Prof. Rajeev Verma, and other esteemed faculty members. The report highlighted an impressive surge in pre-placement offers (PPOs), with nearly 30 percent of MBA-Human Resource (HR) students and 19.8 percent of MBA students receiving offers ahead of the final placement process.
A total of 96 unique companies participated in the recruitment process, spanning the core MBA, MBA-HR, and MBA-Business Analytics programs. Among those who secured placements, 59 percent were fresh graduates, while women made up 31 percent of the placed students. The average annual salary offered to the top 10 percent of students experienced a 7.7 percent increase, and a 6.6 percent rise was observed among the top 25 percent of students.
The recruitment drive attracted prominent firms from diverse sectors, with the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) and Fintech industries leading in the number of candidates recruited. Sectors such as Consulting, E-commerce, FMCG, Information Technology, and Manufacturing also played a significant role. Notably, the number of companies offering roles in strategy and consulting expanded by 33.33 percent, while the number of PPOs extended in sales and marketing roles grew by 28.6 percent.
Key recruiters included industry giants such as Amazon, American Express, Accenture, DE Shaw, Deloitte, GAIL, Vedanta, HSBC, McDonald’s, Titan, Infosys, and Wipro. These companies offered a range of roles that aligned with the students’ diverse skill sets and career aspirations.
Reflecting broader industry trends, IIM Ranchi placed a strong emphasis on integrated learning. Students were offered more than 24 electives, covering areas such as Artificial Intelligence Strategy, Strategic Human Resource Management, Digital Marketing, and Design Thinking. This comprehensive training equipped them for varied roles, including Technology Strategy Consultant, Business Analyst, Risk Manager, and Marketing Research Manager.
Professor Srivastava attributed the institute’s successful placement outcomes to its adaptable curriculum and strong corporate partnerships. He emphasized that the institute’s focus on comprehensive learning across multiple disciplines provides its students with a distinct competitive edge in the employment landscape.
