The rise of digital human resource management (D-HRM) is reshaping the landscape of organizational performance by streamlining processes and enhancing both employee engagement and productivity. Recent studies have identified a significant correlation between the adoption of D-HRM and improved organizational outcomes, particularly in contexts where digitalization is prioritized.
An empirical investigation involving 360 Vietnamese enterprises utilizing digital HRM revealed that digital technologies contribute substantially to operational efficiency by reducing administrative costs and increasing processing speed. The study employed partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the relationship between D-HRM and organizational performance, highlighting the critical role of employee engagement and performance as mediators in this dynamic.
Key findings indicate that personnel strategy acts as a moderating factor, albeit with varying implications. While it does not significantly influence the relationship between D-HRM and organizational performance, personnel strategy holds a notable moderating effect on the link between D-HRM and employee performance. This suggests that while the strategic alignment of human resources may not directly impact overall organizational performance, it plays a crucial role in shaping employee outcomes, thereby indirectly influencing broader organizational metrics.
The study emphasizes the importance of integrating digital HRM practices to foster a supportive and engaging work environment. By leveraging digital tools and platforms, organizations can enhance employee experiences, leading to improved engagement and performance. This, in turn, translates to better organizational performance, underscoring the strategic value of D-HRM initiatives.
Moreover, the research highlights the potential of digital HRM to drive innovation and adaptability in the face of evolving business landscapes. As emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and extended reality continue to transform business models, the role of D-HRM in enabling immersive collaboration and data-driven decision-making becomes increasingly vital.
For organizations navigating the digital transformation era, prioritizing digital HRM practices offers a pathway to sustainable success. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, businesses can enhance their execution capabilities and maintain a competitive edge in the digital economy.
