BCS HR Software Acquires Plek to Expand HR Capabilities

BCS HR Software, a Human Resource Management (HRM) and payroll software provider based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands, has announced its acquisition of Amsterdam-based Plek. Plek is known for offering innovative solutions in employee engagement and internal communication. The move reflects BCS’s strategic efforts to strengthen its service offerings and expand internationally.

A Strategic Partnership with Main Capital Partners

This acquisition marks the eighth add-on since BCS began its strategic partnership with Main Capital Partners in April 2022. Main Capital Partners is a prominent software investor that oversees private equity funds across the Benelux, DACH region, France, the Nordics, and the United States, managing approximately €6.5 billion in assets.

Charly Zwemstra, Founder and CEO of Main Capital Partners, commented, “Since our partnership began, BCS has significantly expanded its product portfolio and geographic footprint. Acquiring Plek is a crucial step in bolstering our position in the employee engagement space.”

Zwemstra emphasized that the integration of BCS’s robust back-end systems with Plek’s intuitive front-end platform represents a “powerful and future-ready solution” for modern HR operations, laying a strong foundation for BCS’s broader international ambitions.

Plek: Enhancing Employee Engagement

Founded in 2015, Plek is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider that offers a mobile-friendly, user-centric platform designed for internal communication, onboarding, employee feedback, and engagement. The platform is multilingual and currently used in 16 countries, making it highly scalable for international growth.

Plek serves over 200 organizations across various sectors including healthcare, construction, government, and professional services. Notable clients include MedicPlek, Rivas, Zeeman, TBI, Building Materials Netherlands, and LKQ Benelux-France.

Andy Verstelle, CEO of Plek, shared his enthusiasm about the merger, stating, “We are thrilled to join BCS in this next phase of our journey. This partnership brings the scale, expertise, and strategic alignment needed to accelerate our mission to enhance employee communication and engagement throughout Europe.”

Why This Acquisition Matters

Plek’s offerings complement BCS’s existing HR and payroll solutions. While BCS focuses on tasks such as employee administration and salary processing, Plek enhances the end-user experience by improving how employees engage with HR processes. This synergy enables organizations to manage workflows and communication more seamlessly.

According to BCS, this integration will create a “smooth connection between HR systems and the employee experience,” making it easier for HR teams to consolidate their tools under one roof. With the addition of Plek, BCS now boasts a combined team of approximately 220 employees.

BCS HR Software: A Leader in HR Tech

BCS HR Software has over 45 years of experience in delivering comprehensive HR and payroll solutions. Its software offerings cater to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), corporations, and non-profits, covering areas such as payroll, time tracking, workflow management, employee scheduling, records management, learning management systems, and flexible benefits administration.

Joep Eijkens, CEO of BCS HR Software, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, stating, “Integrating Plek aligns perfectly with our long-term strategic vision. We are committed to providing innovative and high-quality HR software solutions.”

Eijkens added that Plek’s scalable and integrative technology opens up new avenues for growth across BCS’s existing customer base, while also enhancing internal communication and employee engagement – vital components of the modern employee experience.

A Future-Ready HR Platform

This acquisition signals a shift toward a more integrated and employee-centric HR platform. By combining administrative efficiency with strong engagement tools, BCS is positioning itself as a comprehensive solution provider in the HR tech market.

The move also reflects a growing trend in the HR industry: the convergence of operational tools with engagement platforms. Companies are increasingly recognizing that efficient systems must also foster a positive employee experience to retain talent and drive organizational success.
