The Eddy Awards supports the LAEDC’s mission to reinvent the regional economy and advance growth and prosperity for all. The gala celebrates award recipients who represent the best of the LA region in driving economic development, and showcases the region’s powerful business sector, resilient communities, and prowess in art, music, and culture.
As the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) for Los Angeles County, LAEDC established an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) which was signed at LAEDC’s 29th Annual Eddy Awards signifying a commitment to collaboration amongst the Economic Development Corporations throughout Los Angeles County. LAEDC President/CEO Stephen Cheung refers to this as a way for our regional partners to establish “A coalition of one to build an economy for all” and it is under his leadership that this MOU was developed in order to strengthen efforts across the county in creating a stronger and more resilient economy for communities across all of Los Angeles.
“The signing of the historic MOU with LAEDC signifies a move towards greater partnership on behalf of our diverse and dynamic region,” notes LBEP President/CEO Leah Goold-Haws. “This collaboration will allow more investment to come into Los Angeles County, more ideas to flourish through shared strategic planning, and more opportunities to expand the impact of the work of economic development organizations by leveraging our expertise, assets, and research across the county. This is an exciting way to enter the new year and operate at a level that will drive greater impact on behalf of the region.”
