PRIDE Industries, a leader in employing individuals with disabilities, has announced the promotion of Tim Young to the position of Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President. This announcement underscores PRIDE Industries’ commitment to its mission and the strategic direction under Young’s leadership. Tim Young, who previously served as Vice President of Talent Management, has played a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s goals since he joined in August 2021 as Senior Director of Talent Acquisition.
Jeff Dern, President and CEO of PRIDE Industries, expressed confidence in Young’s ability to lead the HR organization. “Tim brings decades of experience and a strong understanding and knowledge of talent acquisition best practices, hiring technology, market trends, and labor regulations to this well-deserved promotion,” Dern said. He further highlighted Young’s extensive experience and dedication to promoting a positive workplace culture as key reasons for his selection for this role.
In his new capacity, Young will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance across the employee journey, aiming to foster a more inclusive and engaged workforce. His department will handle all aspects of talent management, including outreach and recruiting, onboarding, performance management, training and employee development, and exit processes. Additionally, Young will spearhead recruiting efforts for PRIDE Industries’ AbilityOne contracts.
Tim Young commented on his new role, highlighting PRIDE Industries’ reputation for a positive workplace culture. “I plan to ensure that tradition continues as we move the department into its next stage of growth. I look forward to implementing strategies that support both business results and employee wellbeing,” Young stated.
Since joining PRIDE Industries, Young has led a company-wide initiative to refresh the Core Values: Integrity, Teamwork, Tenacity, and Innovation. He has also developed and implemented strategies to streamline hiring processes while enhancing the overall employee experience. His efforts, in collaboration with the Learning and Development Team, led to the launch of a monthly leadership development series and the creation of a career progression program. This program provides employees with opportunities to build skills and capabilities necessary for taking on roles of increased responsibility.
Before his tenure at PRIDE Industries, Tim Young held leadership roles in talent acquisition and human resources at several prominent organizations, including AutoZone, Ross Stores, and Cost-Plus World Market. His contributions to the field are further highlighted by his role as one of the inaugural commissioners to establish the professional certification system for members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest organization dedicated to human resource management.
Tim Young holds a bachelor’s degree from Sonoma State University, where he was an active member of the track and field team and participated in the NCAA Division II National Championships. His diverse background includes service in the U.S. Army Reserve as an enlisted soldier, further enriching his leadership experience.
PRIDE Industries continues to deliver business excellence with a positive social impact. As a social enterprise, the organization provides facilities operations and maintenance services, custodial services, contract manufacturing, supply chain management, packaging, and fulfillment services, and placement services to both private and public organizations across the nation.
